Barcelona: Paral·lel/Poble Sec

June 9, 2012

First post! Let’s kick off with singular places in Barcelona that we like.  Here you go some places in Paral.lel/Poble Sec:

Quimet & Quimet (Poeta Cabanyes St.,25): For “vermut” and well-crafted little “tapas”. Small grocery, usually is plenty of people, you can’t sit there. If you want  most traditional places, you can find a lot of “bodegas” in Blai street (see our post Barcelona: Poble Sec/Paral·lel (2))

La Confitería (Sant Pau St.,128): Coffee and any kind of drink in this old modernist pastry shop, now bar.

For dinner:

La Bella Napoli (Margarit St.,12-14) Authentic Italian food, so authentic that never recommend you Lambrusco.(Anyone thinks it is wine?? ;). Good quality pasta and pizzas.

Taverna Can Margarit  (Concordia St.21): Upon arrival you can pour your glass of wine from the barrels of the entry. Inside you can find typical Catalan dishes. More details in

After dinner:

Rouge Bar (Poeta Cabanyes St. 21) Red light and antiques are the distinguishing  feature of this bar specialized in cocktails. For couples and quite nights.

Two mythical discos, usually plenty of varied people: Plataforma (Nou de la Rambla St., 145) and Sala Apolo (Nou de la Rambla St., 145), where you can also enjoy good concerts and other events, as the famous Nasty Mondays (see activities here)

Sala Apolo

Update! And Sala Barts (Paral·lel St. 62) with a intensive program including  concerts and theatre (we saw there a good Mark Lanegan’s concert with our friends of . See the program here:

  1. Nice picks! Apolo is the best. I like El Rincón del Cava too, which has great food and is cheap. Actually, I just wrote about it today by coincidence.
