Can Kenji, Japanese tapas

March 16, 2014

Placed in Roselló St.325,near to Passeig Sant Joan, Can Kenji is a small and homely restaurant. Just a few tables and a simple decoration gives this restaurant a practical and functional style. We went on a Sunday and  had a quiet meal, but during the week they offer a menu and it is not so easy to find and empty table, so better book a table before going.

It is a izakaya, so the offer “Japanese tapas” in order to share dishes. The name of the restaurant “Can Kenji” (Kenji’s Home in Catalan) is a clue about the kind of food you can find, Japanese food but adapted to the Mediterranean taste.

After that, the Kenji burger: it’s as sort of “donut” of meat, with a fried egg in the middle. You have the option to add foie to the burger, a light dish;).

At the end, a sweet potatoe flan, very tasty (we forgot to take a picture, we are professional bloggers;) Can Kenji is a good option to have a meal with friends or family. And we want to remark a very good attention, including  Mr.Kenji.

Can Kenji is included these days in the Korekara Japon initiative (March 6th-28th), in order to promote Japanese culture. More informationin korekarajapon.com

The curiosity: try to go to the toilette before eating, or better don’t drink sake or alcohol… Good luck going upstairs!
