Bar Pasajes in Barcelona

February 28, 2015

Bar Pasajes (Sant Pere Més Alt 31-33) is one of the most interesting bars in Barcelona for us. It is placed in the ground floor of an old building. Binding Sant Pere Més Alt Street and Trafalgar Street, near Palau de la Música, at the end of XIX century, this passage, known as Passtage de les Manufactures, included small shops and a bar. The shops were closed and currently are parts of the bar, remembering train cars and giving character to the bar.

So you can sit in an old stall of a market and have a drink, a beer ans some tapas. Tapas are sorted: croquetas, empanadas, hummus, etc

The name of this bar is not only due to its shape and history , it is because of “Pasaia”, a town (or towns, we recommend visit this place) next to San Sebastian, in Basque Country. The meaning is “Passages”.

The curiosity

The old lodge in the entrance appears in “Los Pelayos”, a film about a spanish family that were clever fraudster in casinos, just observing the mechanism of roulettes.
