Passages in Barcelona

If you love wander through the streets, this is your post. In Barcelona, specially in l’Eixample, you will discover some passages, hidden between wide streets. Could be a restaurant, a bar, a gate, art… always something interesting in each of them.

Passatge de la Concepció

Between Passeig de Gràcia and les Rambles, perhaps the most tourist passage. There are some restaurants, most of them owned by the gastronomic group “Tragaluz”:  Tragaluz (Mediterranean cuisine),  Mordisco  (modern decoration, with terrace), El Japones del Tragaluz (Japanese Cuisine).

Other option, Boca Grande, a building with 3 levels: first floor, the restaurant, with fresh sea-food. Second floor, Boca Chica, bar of cocktails. Third floor, the Apartment, to drink in a relaxing atmosphere. Also a comfortable terrace.

Boca-Grande

Passatge Lluis Pellicer

Between Casanovas and Muntaner St., this passage is plenty of gastronomic offers: Nonono (a restaurant with a clear statement of intents: no transgenics, no microwave, no fried food) , Le p’ty mon  (phantastic Creperie), Bun Sichi (Japanese Cuisine), El Taronget (Italian food), El Rovelló (Catalan cusine), el Por qué no Bar (musical bar). Next to the passage, la Braseria Gallega (Galician food) and Velodrom bar (tapas).

During the day, you can find menus. At night, interesting if you want go out, because it’s placed next to discos (Luz de Gas) and bars of Aribau, Tusset, etc. Highly recommended!!

Bar Pasajes

The passage is the bar, one of our favourites in Barcelona. Unique and hidden place to drink a coffee. You can find the main gate it in Sant Pere Mes Alt St.

pasajes

Seneca Street

Hidden as a passage in Barcelona, this street placed between Via Augusta and Els Jardinets de Gràcia concentrates different galleries, antique and interior design shops, a little Soho in Barcelona with some little bars and restaurants. A pleasure take a walk across this street.

calle-senca-noche

Passatge de Mercat

Next to Sta.Concepció Market, between Valencia and Aragon St, a short passage with some bars and restaurants with terrace, recommendable in summer.

An alternative journey in BCN city center: Sant Antoni

Ronda Sant Antoni is close to las Ramblas. It is the city center, but not so crowded. You can start  in Mercat de Sant Antoni. There you can find anything what you want in the different market stalls. On Sundays, a big collection of antiquities.

Cervecería Moritz (Ronda de Sant Antoni 39-41): to take a fresh beer. Fashioned bar, with an innovative design, but inside you can find from remnants of the old beer factory to Roman ruins. We recommend you the visit!

Eating time!

Bar Rekons  (or Bar Canigo) (Comte Urgell 32) In the corner Urgell and Sepulveda Street,  you can eat fantastic Argentinian empanadas and cakes, salads and sandwitches. It is very popular, so it will be difficult you can take a place there  but we recommend you to discover it.

Restaurante “Laurel” (Floridablanca St.140). There you can taste Argentinian empanadas (recommended by Argentinian people!) and more dishes. You are in front of Renoir Floridablanca Cinema, a good plan for a rainy day. Original version films.

Bar Esterri (Villaroel 19), good place to eat tapas.

Centro Aragonés (Joaquin Costa St.,68): a unique experience to know the real old Spanish environment (and an old building too!).

You are in city center, so you can continue discovering curious places!
